This past week in Sun Valley, Idaho will be one to remember, learn and grow from.  The people that made this happen are genuinely people that have the heart to bring freedom and independence to all, especially to those that have a few more obstacles to overcome than most.

Our five vets who all sustained a spinal cord injury, are some of the elite life participants.  These guys inspired and motivated us all in their willingness to adapt and overcome.  Risk, passion, and adventure were some of the motivating reasons to take on this new sport of flying, free from any motor.

The main reason, I believe, these men are so excited to learn this sport is because they will feel a sense of freedom that they have never felt whether walking or rolling and I know from listening closely to them as the days went on that they hope to share this with their fellow soon-to-be Able Pilots around the world!

We shared each day with the best pilots in the U.S., Rob Sporrer and Nick Greece along with their just-as-dedicated friends, whom are also amazing pilots and people.  In addition, there were those who had the vision a couple years ago of getting those who roll on the ground to fly in the air, such as Mark Gaskill and Dr. Don Bloswick, and our IT man, Tim Meehan.

The team all together is much more numerous than mentioned here, but none-the-less each person plays an integral part in the success of this dream.

Each day was filled with excitement and utter gratitude as everyone was cared for, accommodated, and treated with the utmost respect.

Each person brought experience, ability, and a master mind that was diverse but pulled all the puzzle pieces precisely together.  I couldn’t imagine a better team!
I have NOT personally flown in many places tandem or solo other than Switzerland, La Jolla, and now Sun Valley.  As epic as each place is, Sun Valley tops them all because of the dynamic mountains, the chilly air, hot sun, amazing energy the town has and mostly the camaraderie of the team.
I am blessed for this experience to observe, share, volunteer, and be accepted as a team member in this mostly all male team.  As Darol and I worked to learn to fly together this past year with out proper equipment, and the frustration that may have built, I appreciate this opportunity that much more.  Now our dream of flying together certainly can come true, I have no doubts.
Thank you to every one whom is making this happen.
